According to the band’s press agency MS Metal Press (Brazil), Angra’s recent album Aqua has got the status of one of the most selling CDs in Brazil and Japan.
Thus, it has occupied the 11th place in the top-500 selling list for the period from 23 to 29th of August of Livraria Saraiva, one of the biggest Brazilian networks with shops over the whole national territory. The name of Angra is mentioned among such renowned artists as Iron Maiden, Celine Dion and the national icon Tom Jobim. Also, Aqua became one of the most selling CDs in the famous Brazilian DieHard metal online shop. The album was released in Brazil on August, 17th. In Japan, where the CD saw the light of day on August, 11th, ANGRA became the best selling album together with The Final Frontier of Iron Maiden.
The Brazilian band has been a sales leader in Japan since the band was formed in the 90’s. “We are doing really well in Brazil, Japan and Europe! Even nowadays when almost everything is available for free download, it is good to see that our fans prefer to buy an original material. The sales have been beyond our expectations.
